My husband and I did not know any Florida realtors when we decided to shop around for property in the Bonita Springs/Naples area.  We contacted Gabe Mellein because he had written an informed and intelligent article in the local newspaper.

When we first met him we were impressed with his knowledge of area properties and how quickly he honed in on exactly what we were looking for.  He appeased us by showing us properties that we thought we might like which he knew we wouldn’t.  He educated us at every turn and was forthright about the positive and negative aspects of each home.

Our trust in Gabe grew daily.  He never pushed us – tried to influence us in any way.  We did not find a property that met our requirements over the two months we were in Florida, and Gabe promised to continue looking on our behalf.  In fact, my husband and I agreed that we would rent for the following season and continue our search at that time.

While driving home to Western New York, Gabe called us to let us know that a property had come available in an area he knew that we were very interested in and that appeared to be a very good buy.  We took a pit stop and communicated with Gabe for some time and decided to put a contract on the property with a 12 day inspection clause.

After a quick return trip, we agreed with Gabe that this was the right house; in the right area; and at the right price.  We had to arrange for the purchase from up north and so Gabe became our ears; eyes and our advocate.  He and his wife took pictures and sent them to us.  He sent us contact information for all utilities and other vendors. He mediated with the mortgage broker; the title company and the selling broker.  He always was personable; professional and no request was too small for his complete attention.

Ultimately, largely due to Gabe’s tenacity and knowledge of the Florida real estate terrain, we closed exactly 32 days from the day the contract was electronically signed in a Best Western somewhere outside of Savannah, Georgia – – no minor feat.  We feel very fortunate that we had Gabe as our realtor.  We would recommend him unconditionally.  My husband and I would be happy to provide detailed feedback to any potential client.
