Last week was an interesting week in that we had several owners of local rental homes contact us to tell us they weren’t happy with their current property managers.  This surprisingly happens more often than one might think.  The most common complaint that we hear is that maintenance requests are not being taken care of.  Tenants will call the manager with a list of non-working items in need of repair, a lot of empty promises later and still no work has been done. In some cases, the tenant will actually track down the owner and call them to complain.  This usually puts most owners over the top and they start shopping around for new managers.  After all, what’s the point of paying someone to service your property if it’s not being tended to?
We feel that it’s important to protect the owner’s investment as much as possible. Of course we can’t be at the property daily to check up on it, but when a tenant calls with a maintenance request – we take it seriously. Of course it is work on our end, but it keeps the tenant happy, who in turn pays rent on time, and it keeps the owner happy, who in turn sends us more business and referrals!


Another key factor most owners want is simple communication.  If you, as an owner, don’t know what’s going on or what maintenance has been done on your property, etc., it’s easy to feel that your manager isn’t doing anything for you.  Our system allows rental owners to have their own private login on our specially designed website so they can track accounting of their property 24/7, see maintenance requests, see copies of the lease and view other important documents, and have online document storage.  Feel free to check out our rental site at and our sales site at  It’s really a sophisticated system, yet very simple to use and our owners have been raving about it!


As long as you can get out of your current agreement mutually and in writing, you have the choice to use whatever company you wish.  We’ve found several owners to be uninformed, so they unhappily stay with their management company.  Owning a rental property is a big deal, so make sure you have the right people on the job and that your asset is being protected and earning you the best return on your investment possible.
